The town is situated at an elevation of 5,584 feet and is surrounded by stunning mountains, including the Wasatch Range and the Uinta Mountains. Over the last 20 years, Midway has experienced significant population growth, with a 69% increase from 2000 to 2020. As of 2020, the town's population was estimated at 6,857. This growth can be attributed to the town's increasing popularity as a tourist destination and its proximity to larger cities such as Salt Lake City and Park City.

One of the top things to do in Midway is to visit the Homestead Crater, a geothermal spring enclosed within a 55-foot-tall beehive-shaped limestone rock. Visitors can swim, scuba dive, or take a paddle board yoga class in the 90-96 degree Fahrenheit water. Other popular outdoor activities include hiking and mountain biking in the surrounding mountains, skiing at nearby resorts such as Deer Valley and Park City Mountain, and golfing at the Wasatch Mountain Golf Course.

Although small, Midway has several outstanding restaurants to choose from. If you're looking for a place to enjoy delicious food, great service, and a cozy atmosphere, these three restaurants should definitely be on your list. First up is the Midway Mercantile, which offers a seasonal farm-to-table menu with fresh ingredients and a wide selection of craft beers. Next is Cafe Galleria, which offers a cozy atmosphere and a wide range of Italian dishes with a local twist, including wood-fired pizzas and homemade pasta. And finally, the charming Blue Boar Inn & Restaurant. This lovely European-style inn offers a fine dining experience that features a variety of dishes, including classic American and European cuisine, with a focus on seasonal and local ingredients. The restaurant also has an extensive wine list, featuring both local and international wines, which pair perfectly with their dishes.
